As a kid, I grew up eating here with my family on Sundays, so every now and then I like to visit the local Sizzler. On my past few visits, my wife and I noticed that it was usually 90% empty and of the customers there, we were almost always the the youngest people there. Is the food that bad that nobody goes there anymore? When I was a kid, there used to be people lined up to place their orders! Things sure have changed over the past 20 years. I may be biassed here, so bare with me.
My wife is a foodie. If it's great and popular, she's probably tried it. But before going with me, my wife has actually never been to a sizzler. It was never on her radar. She never heard any buzz about it except from me. But when we go, she goes to town on their salad bar! It's a hit and a great alternative to going to Soup Plantation. There must be something good about this place, right?
What if Gordon Ramsey or other celebrity chefs were to step in and help them out? I hope they survive. It seems like they need a huge brand makeover. Its sad to see the franchise go downhill. Yelp reviewers also agree that it's not the same as it used to be, especially their cheesy bread.
